D15B7 to D15Z1 swap WHAT WILL I NEED?
Hello,
I’ve just purchased a 93 Honda Civic Hatchback (looks like CX with A/C) the owner said that he had a D15B7 engine installed (D15B7 number on the engine block) in it and I want to swap the engine with D15Z1 for fuel economy? I have never performed an engine swap so can anyone tell if I will need anything else (connectors, hoses, ECU, different bolts, mounts, etc) besides the D15Z1 engine to complete the swap? Any recommendation on where I can get D15Z1? Thank you.

Engine, ECU, EGR stuff, 5 wire O2 sensor (these are pretty expensive new, $400ish i believe), you will need to wire vtec. If you want a D15Z1 i'd try getting a used low mileage JDM version, it will be stamped D15B, beware there are several D15B vtec engines, you want the OBD1 vtec-e version for fuel mileage.

First of all THANK YOU for your comments and here come more questions:
1. I found a company (Hasport) that makes a harness to connect the VTEC-E to the D15Z1 computer.
2. Is there a harness for O2 sensor that I can buy or get from junk yard (does O2 sensor connect directly to ECU or it splices out somewhere and I’ll have to “manually” connect the O2 to the ECU)?
3. Is there a harness for ERG Valve that I can buy or get from junk yard (does ERG valve connect directly to ECU or it splices out somewhere and I’ll have to “manually” connect the ERG valve to the ECU)?
4. By EGR stuff I think you mean connection and vacuum box, correct or is there something else?
5. The JDM motor that you have mentioned D15B does it have another notation like OBD1 and where? How will I know I am getting the correct motor? I am planning to get something form junk yard.
