d15b7 with a check engine light
Hello, world. My first honda has arrived for the right price and it also came with some goodies. I'm about to Non-op it unless I can get this check engine light off.
So, my code reads 7, which my research said TPS sensor. I've since replaced it and cant tune it down far enough to be at .5(closed) and 4.5(open)
The previous owner left an AEM adjustable cam gear, not one of these 5 bolt tru-time or whatever, this one is a 3 bolt. Plus an DC sports Direct Air Charger and some louder muffler.
I believe i might have to tune the cam gear down to achieve the proper voltage, but i also believe asking is better than ruining my car's timing.
Any help is more than appreciated.
First thread, and its a check engine light. Sweet.

Re: d15b7 with a check engine light
how would a cam effect the tps voltage. disconnect the battery and let it stay that way for 10 minutes and reinstall it. see if resetting the ecu helps.

If you unplug the TPS connector and turn the key to ON(II), what voltage do you measure between the Yel/Wht and Grn/Wht wires in the wire harness connector?
With the connector plugged into the sensor, what voltage do you measure between the center Red/Blu wire and the Grn/Wht wire at closed throttle?

In the unplugged TPS connector, what voltage do you read for the Yel/Wht wire if the Grn/Wht wire is used as the ground?

i am probably doing them incorrectly. what is the best way to describe how to do it? the "instructions" that came with it are poor in quality, to say the least.

2) Unplug the TPS connector and turn the key to ON(II).
3) Set your multimeter to read DC volts on a low scale, such as 20V.
4) Touch the red (+) meter probe to the Yel/Wht wire terminal in the connector and the black (-) meter probe to the battery ground post. What voltage do you read?
5) Do the same test except use the Grn/Wht wire terminal in the connector as ground rather than the battery ground post. What voltage do you read?
6) Plug the connector back into the TPS sensor. Back probe the center Red/Blu wire terminal of the connector with the red meter probe and the Grn/Wht wire terminal with the black meter probe. What voltage do you read?

Re: d15b7 with a check engine light
CEL is off, now my IACV and FITV need some carb cleaner and hopefully that will have fixed my idle.
Thanks for the help! This won't be the last time i ask for it.
