Default d15b7 2 d16y8

I have a d15b7 in my 2dr coupe but i want to put a d16y8 which came off a 98 with auto tranny. It still has a torque converter and thats how i got it . i got nothing but the complete motor and a friend told me that i can use this motor by just changing the converter for a flywheel and my tranny will bolt right up, i have a manual tranny. he also said that i should just get the ecu from the same year(98) as long as its a manual trans ecu. This sounded so simple to be true. Has anybody done this before and if so what kind of changes were done? I would sure like to have this motor in my car since my d15 gets me no where (slow). and the one i got was free and only has about 37,000 miles on it before it got yanked out for a k20 swap. HELP! any links where they show how to do this yourself. im new to the import side but done v8 s before, so im not afraid to tackle this down so long as i can get help and led in the right direction.
