Default d15b wire confusion!

OK so my buddy got a D15b vtec short block today from a shop in El Monte, CA. He has a D15b7 currently in his ej2. HIS question to you guys is can he use his D15b7 harness on the D15b? i told him he needs to get an OBD0 harness considering its a japanese motor along with the ecu. The shop gave him a P08 ecu.(??) ive never heard of that ecu before..and i sold him a p28 ecu today so can he use that ecu with the new motor?

thanks

Yes you can use the D15B7 harness. He will simply need to add the vtec wiring (2 wires and a ground). The P08 is the correct ECU to run with the D15B Vtec. A p28 is extemely close and honestly the biggest difference is that the P08 uses a 1 wire O2 sensor and the P28 uses a 4 wire.

The p08 is the ecu he wants to run, not the p28, so be a good friend and give him his money back. As far as the wiring harness goes... I'm not sure why you told him to get an obd0 one... The d15b is an obd1 motor.

the Z6 harness is what I'm using with that motor right now. Works perfectly.
