d15b vtec = 130HP

d15b vtec-e = noHP

Both engines are JDM spec.

D15b or D15z1 vtec-e = 92hp (94ps) - motor built to get great fuel mileage but lacks the torque and power, it is not a performance oriented motor. operates in 12valve mode till about 2.5k rpm then it switches on the other 4valves. below 2.5k rpm (cruising, due to long gear tranny + weak 3.25FD) its able to run o 20:1 fuel/air mixture. other negatives from performance oriented outlook: long geared tranny, low rev limit, very weak power, tiny TB and intake, no cams or any other internal work can do much for this motor.

JDM D15B sohc vtec is basically a smaller version of the D16z6 (si sohc vtec motor). it displaces about 100cc less, this was done by the japanese to keep it from being taxed along higher end vehicles (as any vehicles above 1500cc get put on in another tax bracket). power is output 130ps or about 128hp, dynos are very similar again to our d16z6. it featues d15b/d15z1 bottom end (which offers alot better rod/stroke ratio), which makes the motor smoother and quicker reving. head/intake/exhaustmanifolds are identical to d16z6, only difference is in the cam which is slight timed diferently and more aggressive. P08 seems to be slightly more aggressive as well and run alot leaner then the P28 of the D16z6. tranny has the same gear ratios but optional LSD was avalible...
