Default D15B vtec setup

i've been searching for the correct method of splicing the D6 and A4 wires and all that crap, and i started thinking...

would it be possible to just put on a D16Z6 vtec solenoid and not have to mess with cutting wires or anything? just plug the 2 things on it and be done? i'm using the p28 ecu.

no no, the jdm d15b. it's pretty much the exact same thing as a z6, just japanese. the solenoid on the d15b doesn't come with an oil pressure switch, but i need that since i'm using the p28 ecu. since i don't want to go about cutting my wiring harness, i'm just gonna throw on the Z6 vtec noid and go with that.

You can use the Z6 vtec solenoid, but if its the OBD1 D15B Vtec it will have the vtec pressure switch anyway. Its only JDM OBD2 engines that lack the vtec pressure switch.
