you want to know which motor would hit vtec louder? Im not sure why...but Id guess it'd be similar db's, lol
the stage 3 vtec wasn't made to be a fast motor, its designed to get good gas mpg.

if your running a b20...Id sell it, and replace with a b18....they're cheap, and if you want boost again, its easy, cheap and nice gains.

Well the guy is buy my whole swap and the main reason I said yes is cuz I don't want to dump more money in to it for now so ill rather just run a single cam and save money for now

i have a Y8 in my DD stock exhuaset on it but just to say i CANT hear the vtec activate at all so if you want to able to hear it kick in stick with a b series. but i love the milage i get on my y8 over my b18c5 still good power for DD but kinda suks if you have to pass on a single lane highway. (mines auto so that may be a part of it, but i have to back off and floor it to build speed before i pass)

if i was ever doing a swap i would probably choose a B series again over another D. much more fun in MY OPPINION

plus just a thought i havent ever read about tuning the 3 stage vtec is there anyone in your area tha can before you buy something you cant have tuned.

just get the d16... the d15 has always been a big headache swap to get to run correctly as they had EGR valves and a ecu that only was avalible in japan. the 3 stage Vtec is made for gas mileage as it has a smaller vtec lobe for midrage power that kicks in at 3k and a Big vtec lobe for over 5k. You will never find a aftermarket Cam for that head and you will be stuck with your stock cam. its nice the d15 has a roller style valvetrain. if u wanna swap it in to save gas money then have fun. if ur planning on boosting the motor then just get a d16... a Z6 or A6 perferably
