I've seen a well tuned stock bottom end D15B7 using a 14b set a 8psi and, with TUNING, is getting 195 whp. You should be able to shoot higher since you have bigger rods/journals if you have the JDM D15B - should be comparable to the D16.
Keep in mind that the boost number isn't the only factor in making reliable power - please get the A/F tuned correctly on a dyno!
An you will need a new clutch if it's slipping with stock power levels....
My advice is to read about turbocharging until your eyes bleed, then sleep and get up and read some more. If you jump into this thinking "Hey, 8psi is safe and reliable," but don't know the CONDITIONS at which it is safe and reliable, you will have a destroyed engine in no time flat.

well usually with stock internals you can run around 8 lbs daily and can be a reliable car to run...but yeah it does also depend on your setup

You really dont have to touch the head. I mean you could, but it would be a waste in my opinion. Low compression pistons and strong rods are what you want for more boost. You will need a stronger clutch too. Mine stopped working at ~7-8psi in high rpm's, it just spun and it was a fairly new clutch too. Just remember tuning is key. Get bigger injectors and go get it tuned and you could make some nice numbers on a stock engine.
Oh and an LSD is always a nice choice to help with traction

Re: d15b turbo with stock internal (nxstrikerxn)
i dont understand how people say they are running 10 psi could be related to someone saying they are running 8 psi. PSI has nothing to do with whp, you could have a monster turbo running 5 psi and a small 13g running 18psi and you'll have the same power. so if you say ur running so and so psi, please say what turbo you have otherwise it means nothing
