D15b timing question??
My d15b came with the distrubutor all the way advanced it was an automatic motor I dont know if it mattters but does this seem right? I mean i loosened it to look at it and its definately been set like that for awhile. The washer wore in a mark on the distributor. Should I leave it like this?

they run 100 RON which is slightly higher than the stuff we get in the UK (95-98)RON and from what I've read a fair bit higher than what you guys have in the states. Measure the timing with a strobe and see how far out from the factory spec it is, if its really far you'll want to pull it back..

they are cheap here so i guess they be cheap over there (£20 for quite a bright one) I have a D15B but you don't just **** around and guess where you think it should be you measure it.

no I have the stock d15b one, good point. Isnt the d15b cam very aggressive compared to the other d's? I guess that could have a little to do with it.

If you had any cam made for the D16Z6 your timing would be off something like 9 degrees.
Are you possibly off 1 tooth on your crank/cam timing?

back from the dead..i'm having this exact same problem..mine is maxed out on the dizzy and its running too retarded..im also using a z6 dizzy on my d15b. cam timing is perfect because it runs like crap if i slide it 1 tooth either direction..anyone have this problem? or a solution? Im going to try modding the dizzy holes to give me more adjustablility..

sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I just got a d15b and have been reading through the archives and found this, I am having the SAME exact problem. Has anyone ever figured out the fix for it?

Re: D15b timing question?? (Thrillhouse)
The only way I overcame this problem was to bore out the mounting holes on the dizzy so I can turn it even further. Other than that, you can change timing through the ecu. My car still feels a little sluggish.
