yes your tranny will work but it wont be the best for that motor. also i think your gonna need a p28 for vtec to work right? also your gonna have to wire up the vtec.

Dont think that tranny would be in your best interest...but yea make sure you have the correct shift linkage but if im not mistaken the old linkage will work.

make sure u get a new tranny i did the same swap to my 95cx hb and its slow as Ba!!S so make sure u swap it the po8 will work but im using the p28 no complaints yet except sometimes i throw a cel for the o2 sensor bc the p28 needs a 4wire o2 but u should be ok with the po8 i just swapped on the d16y8 intake manifold and the si tranny is comin next

I'm not sure what computer to use on your car, my car needed a P28 due to the 4 wire O2. I swapped my complete wiring harness over.
I still have not hooked up VTEC and it runs fine.
I did buy a new (used) transmission, an S20, and the gearing was worth the money. I am keeping my original DX transmission for a spare though. It would be nice to have should gas prices spike sky high.
I ended up spending almost $2K on my D15b swap after replacing EVERYTHING that I could bolt to the motor. (i.e. Exedy clutch, fidanza flywheel, O2 sensor, battery, axles, water pump, timing belt, etc.)

Re: (DougNuts)
u can use a p08 4 wire or 1 wire blah blah it doesnt matter, it wont throw a code. i plugged in a jdm p08 and no codes on my car. as far as harness u can use ur stock dx, lx, ex, cx, whatever but if it doesnt have vtec already wired up u gotta run those through the firewall straight to the ecu. vtec oil pressure sensor and vtec solenoid plug, they are pins A4 and D6 then u gotta ground the solenoid. Your tranny will work but if ur looking to shift higher than 7k then definately dont use ur stock tranny get a s20 that comes with the d15b, i can shift at 7500 everytime no problems with my p08
