Default D15B question

Right now im runnning a jdm d15 vtec sohc in my 95 coupe
Since the day i got it, the vtec has not been kicking in. I went to my mechanic and he told me that some sensor is broken and thats why the vtec isnt kicking it. Is it really worth it to pay and get it working? I mean is it gonna make that big of a difference? Im taking out this motor soon so thats why im not sure if i should do it.

What do u think h-t'ers

leave all "vTAk" comments to urself

the vtech makes the value of that engine much higher....without it, its just a plain inline four. The variable valve timing makes a big difference, and its what kept honda in the market for sport compacts.

i say replace the VTEC solenoid if thats whats wrong becuase you would probably get more from the motor if you decide to sell it

if you go to honda a new solonoid should be arounf $150 dollars.. maybe a little under. Even if you plan on selling it get the vtec working and it will be worth a lot more!

which sensor?
is your CEL on?
which swap are you planning? (may be a wiring issue that will bite you later)

personally I'd fix it. if your CEL is on you'll get really poor gas mileage and it will run poor as well.
