Default d15b obd2 swap help

Hi everyone... ok so my d16y7 blew in my 97 dx so i ordered a d15b obd2 engine from tigerjapanese and me and my friends just about finished installing it...just a couple background details to know before i get into the two issues I am facing...im still using my d16y7 intake manifold because the d15b manifold created several problems such as an egr valve blocking a fuel line also it was missin various sensors and i am using an obd2 p2p ecu........ ok now to the problems i am facing....

1.the engine starts and runs but doesnt idle at a steady rpm and the throttle response is very oversensitive almost like on or off when the pedal is pressed...my guess is theres a vacuum leak somewhere that i must find but i would like to hear if anyone knows of any other possible sources to the problem.

2.this engine is 3stage vtec so it has two solenoids.. one with a red wire and one with the normally colored vtec wire.. i know that getting a p2j ecu or aem ems are some of the only ways to run 3 stage vtec but i dont have 200 extra dollars for either and i dont rlly care about HAVING to run 3stage... soo my plan right now is to wire the regular vtec solenoid up normally to the p2p ecu and to wire the other solenoid with the red wire(which i understand its only function is switching the motor from 12valve mode to 16 valve mode) to a power source to keep it always in 16 valve mode.... this should make the engine run basically the same as any normal vtec engine would, correct? does anyone know how many volts the red wired solenoid needs to be activated...is it 5? is the easiest way to give it the required voltage being to wire it right to the positive 12 volt battery terminal and add resistors to bring down the voltage to whatever is required or is there a better spot to bring power to the vtec solenoid or a better way to keep the motor always in 16valve mode? Has anyone on here done this or something similar before?
