Default d15b jdm vtec (help)

ok heres the deal. i bought a 89 civic si from a friend with no engine. so i went on a webpage and bought a d15b jdm vtec motor with like 55k miles on it. i can just drop that in and hook it up and go right? i know i need the right ecu also for it.

p08 ecu ...and you need to conversion harness to obd1.....and ofcourse you need to run the vtec solenoid and pressure in to the ecu

Also check the vtec solenoid when you get the motor. Alot of times these jdm motors need the solenoid cleaned. I also checked my head for oil buildup and cleanliness. They have a problem with gunk building up in them.

ok i cant use the p28 ecu? and i heard i need to change my distributor to the 89 si one and same goes for the injectors. i read a read up on it but i got lost lol.

definitely do alot more reading...

but yes, the proper way would be to run obd1 (as the motor is obd1).... p28 ecu will work fine. you can use your 89si injectors, as long as you have an obd0-obd1 conversion harness.
