JDM D15B into 92 CX
Ok i tried searching but couldnt find any info on the D15B swap going into a car already pre-wired for Vtec which means i dont have to cut and splice any wires for Vtec everything is plug n play for all the 92 models...i currently have sitting in my hatch a Z6 swap that is giving me problems and has Valve Lash and there is a knocking sound coming from the motor and a oil leak..my question is:
1)Can i use my Ex/Si harness on the D15B?
2)Can i use the current P28 on the D15B? or Do i need to get a P08?
Im going to be ordering it from HMO in the coming weeks

Re: (bdubnyc)
if the engine you are putting in is not vtec you will have a check engine light. other than that you are fine. obd1 has two wire o2s. no problems there.

So from what you guys are saying my P28 will work and my harness will work and its just basically a direct swap into my hatch? can i use the same 4 Wire O2 sensor im using on my Z6 on the D15B Vtec?

Re: (bdubnyc)
I'm pretty sure the d15b comes with a 1-wire o2 sensor. If you use a p08, keep this sensor... If you use a p28, you have to use your old o2 sensor....you will have one plug left over for the purge solenoid valve so you must swap that over from the old engine too.

Re: (01S2king)
The OBD-1 D15b only has one wire.....nobody suggests using this though because d15b parts are a PITA to find so just use the 4 wire sensor so you can find it in the auto parts store easily

Re: (psychotic_civic)
Ok i wll probably be using the Old ECU and my 4 wire O2 sensor so i think everything will be ok! And i will swap over the Purge Solenoid..WAIT i just noticed that this Cap that is circled is not on my current purge solenoid..is that a problem if that cap is not on the purge solenoid? it looks as if it got broken off...maybe thats why the car is running weird and bucking? idk..

Re: (bdubnyc)
Maybe i can clear a few things up, a d15b (vtec) is basically a d16 with a bump in compression. Im pretty sure you can use the ex/si harness. If you run the p08 you can run into some problems where it jdm (cant remember if traction control is one of them). You can use the p28, but it would be really smart to get it chipped/tuned. That cap is a filter i tihnk on top of the purge, you'll probly want that, but i dont think it will cause you to buck, that usually a fitv problem.

Oh ok i tried cranking the FITV all the way down and the bucking seems to have gone away but not fully maybe i need to crank it down some more idk it seemed like it was all the way down but i will take it off again and see if its cranked all the way down.
And thanks for the info..would there be a problem if i run the P28?
