D15b ENGINE SWAP..??
Have a Honda Civic VTi 92' D15b SOHC VTEC...
Was originally going to drop in an H22a7 out of EURO R but instead dropped into Si Integra....
Wondering what would be easiest, best and most affordable engine to drop into VTi?? Prefer good torque and healthy top end...
No B-H-F Series conversion for this car... Something cheap.. And suggestions on where I can get some good FAQs for whatever conversion...
Thanx....

Re: D15b ENGINE SWAP..?? (TeCTaK)
The only swap that would be cheap would be comparable to what you have now. D series engines is what is cheap, and you don't want B which is practically the next step up. That D15B should run you about 130 HP, don't see how you can get more than that whithout going OBD-II D-series

Yeah, D15B is about the best in what you're looking for. A little more displacement would be given by the D16Z6, which may yield a fraction more all around torque than the D15B, but not enough I think, to be noticeable. If you want to keep it D series, and want some more all around torque and response, without trying to be too fast, you could always just rebuild the D you have, and get a good, mild supercharger setup. (that was a lot of commas, but you know what I'm saying) You could also go for a mild turbo kit.

The ZC SOHC will either come in a VTEC or non VTEC model, VTEC model being comparable to a D16Z6. Yes the hatch will weigh less, for a good comparison there is a post someone made that gives the weights, just search it real quick.

I'm not sure where you are located, I'm guessing Europe (Damn my geography skills), but you would have to source a motor out there, I wouldn't wanna have one shipped from here that would cost more than the engine itself. The parts needed for the swap are pretty easy and usually you can get everything in a package deal like from Hasport.

Oh I see. Well, what about a good rebuild with a nice mild cam, some of the stereotypical boltons, and a tune? That ought to give a good bit of torque for your gf's daily driver. I'm just trying to save you the trouble of having to get another engine brought in.

I would say look into Skunk2, and it'd be recommended to upgrade the valvetrain, but that's kind of good anyway if you intend to rebuild. I say that it'd be your best bet to do some research on that option.

Re: Swap
I plan on dropping a D15B into my 92 CX hatch. And this company in Virginia is selling the following items to me for 800 bucks.
D15B VTEC Engine
5 speed Transmission
ECU (PO8)
Wiring harness OBD1
Distributor / Exhaust Manifold / Intake Manifold
Down pipe / Fuel Rail / Alternator
Injectors / Sensors / Starter
Throttle Body
Are they all I need? Or do i have to buy more parts for the swap? Will this be a direct drop-in, bolt-on swap? Am i able to use my CX stock axles? I've never a done a swap before, i really would like to do it myself, even though it'll take much time. My CX is should be OBD1, right? Will I be able to install power steering? If you have information, please help me, thank you!

I have just a SOHC ZC VTEC motor. I'll post a link up in a few minutes for pictures. I don't really know the shops around hereto well but to buy a swap I would try Noyan USA in Northern Virginia. They are realy nice down there and you skip having to pay for shipping, plus you get to chose which engine you want out of the lot. I get most of my parts online though.
