D15b Eg quarter mile

I just went to rock falls this weekend, i have a stock eg hatch stock suspension, stock rims, stock tires, aftermarket intake, and magnaflow exhaust catback, removed the two rear seats and took out my spare. I was hoping to pull out under 16.0.
I ran 15.952 @85.34 mph
I guess thats decent some people say its kind of high but then again this is a SOHC 130hp vtec, keep in mind the stock civic EX runs 16.8

Re: D15b Eg quarter mile (H22A EG6)

yeah gettin that 60' down will definitely get you some better times https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
depends how much boost youre gonna run, i wouldnt run more than 7-8 non-intercooled on stock internals, check the FI classifieds you should be able to find a complete kit with FMIC and BOV for about the price of a new greddy kit...im planning to run 8-10 lbs (intercooled) on my d15 on stock internals, also remember tuning is key to power AND reliablility

nice time man

mikehawkBUiLT 09-20-2004 08:49 PM

that shit'll pull a premium before race wars!

BoostinEJ1 09-20-2004 09:32 PM

That is a pretty good time, my 93 si runs a 15.7 all day long, could probably hit a 15.4 if i changed a few things. You probably have a lighter hatch which is a plus, def. turbo that b*tch!

Re: (JdmEGHatch6)

That's not a bad time. When I was NA.. I ran 15.90@84mph in my '93 Civic EX Coupe (stock D16Z6, stock exhaust) with the back seats and spare removed. This was with a 2.32 60'. Get your 60' time down to 2.2 and you should see ~15.6.

That's a pretty good time, I think that it's a waste of money to put a turbo on a SOHC. I should know, I have one. If you could get the money get a B16A or above. Cause in all honest, some with a B16 all motor with minor mods will dump on you in a heart beat. You can get a JDM Spec B16A with a cable tranny, mugen chip ecu, for about $2000. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

sorry y0 i could not log out!
we were orginally gonna do a B18B turbo
but low on funds and i ahve seen sohc run 11's on high boost (23lbs) https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif
but the turbo kit for the sohc is 1400 new form greddy and that will be good for us https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

This is little bit of topic, but did you hear what that idiot said in a movie.

"do you see what's missing here?"
"couple of sr20 motors would pull a premium before rice wars!"

since when do civics use nissan motors?

Not flaming at all just asking but how did you run a 15.9 in a stock ex when the the stock 1/4 mile time is sposed to be like 16.7. Doesn't seem like a seat and a spare tire could knock a second off your time.

i have a d-series greddy turbo kit. selling for $1100. comes with spearco intercooler, injectors, msd, vafc, TD04 turbo snail, turbo manifold, pipes, couplings, gaskets, and oil lines. all you need is ONE oil feed line (the one with the banjo fitting), and your custom down pipe. let me know if you want it.

It beats the hell outta me. That time was my very last run being NA. I have the timeslip and everything for that run. I ran that at Sacramento Raceway in Sacramento, CA. if it makes any difference. I couldv'e probably gone even faster if I pulled a 2.20 60' instead of a 2.32 60'. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

Re: (JDM Ninja)

94 hatch SI, you are stupid, a b16 over a d15b turbo...no contest, the turbo sohc wins everytime. b16 has barely more torque than the d15b and on top of that his engine with the turbo will throw down like 170-185 prolly, a mildly modded b16a will probably not hit that. If he had money for a swap why waist it on a b16a, sohc turbo > b16a.

Devine 09-25-2004 01:54 PM

Re: (BrianDelSol)

Please, whoever said dont turbo it and get a B series needs to come race me with their dohc, I turboed my d15b and am more than pleased. Ive ran a 95 dx coupe with a 98 spec type r motor in it, raped it, ran a 96 hatch with a jdm h22, raped it, 2003 z28 pulled it, 2002 corvette- had a fender on him.All of this is on a jdm d15b running 12lbs of boost in my heavy ass coupe. Do yourself a favor and slap a turbo on that beast, you wont regret it.
