Default d15b to d16z6? how much faster will the D16z6 be?

I just bought a d16z6 and right now i have a d15b in my 95 civic. Its a non VTEC. I have a brand new OBX header and a K&N intake, i was wondering if i will have a lot more horsepower?

You should be able to feel quite a difference. Especially if you use the EX/SI tranny.

It isn't goint to be blazing fast, but you will feel the difference i'm sure of that.

some people would say to do a minime head swap with the setups you have like ive done but im not to sure on that one. if so swap trannies. with a head swap you will get more compression and more hp than either of your two setups now ps if you have the tools and time that is

An extra 23 hp would be nice, but for sure the biggest difference will come from the tranny. If you do the Z6 swap make sure it's the whole engine AND the trans not only just the longblock.

this is the same motor ive been trying to find and swap for awhile .. the good thing about this motor is, even if its not as fast as you want .. nothing a 1000$ turbo kit cant fix.. vs doing a bseries swap or even bseries turbo .. its far less cheeper and easy to do

i put the sohc d16z6 whole swap in my car(94 dx coupe) and i noticed a difference! i ran a 14.9 at the track with aem cold air, ractive header, and apexi w/s cat back, no catalytic converter, and no interior. its mostly the tranny thats makes the difference. dont forget to add the vtec and oil wires tho

Yeah!! notice its only a few horses but the possibilities of making more HP is far better with the z6

So if i get a new tranny like an ex, my d16z6 will run better? when i bought this engine i also got a stage 1 clutch kit, and a lightweight flywheel so i don't know if that would be just as good as a ex tranny or not?
