D15B Block/ D16Y8 Head Mini-Me Timing help
Hey, I have a d15b block on a d16y8 head, I have no problem getting the can TDC but the block doesn't have a lower timing cover and I cannot figure out how to put the block TDC

U can do it by putting ur dipstick in cylinder #1 spark plug holeand turn the engine over until u see it at the top and start to go down. Then just go back a little until ur sure it's at the top. Lol that's the easiest way that I know of. Just be careful. Or wait for someone who has more experience to answer.

You can use a piston stop. A spark plug with a piece of chevy pushrod installed into the insulator and welded not obstructing the threads any. Set up a pointer in relationship so that you can scribe a line on the crankshaft pully. Rotate the crankshaft this way (clockwise) put a mark on the crankshaft pully. Then rotate the crankshaft that way (counter-clockwise) and put a mark on the pully. Exactly in between those two just made scribes and you have something you can use.

The mark for the crank is on the oil pump. For ignition timing, look at the tensioner bolt and imagine citing the bolt in 4 even pecies vertically. The third line starting for
