D-Turbo
Well im piecing together a turbo kit for my car, 94 civic si (canadian) so its a d-series. Im currently looking at a turbo from an 87rx7 or a turbo off an older volvo. Im wondering how these turbos will work with my engine? Im new to boosting so im sort of clueless. Also im wondering will my tranny and clutch prob be smoke after I get this turbo set up? Im looking at these turbos because they are cheap and in good condition, but im in no rush. I would just like your opinion and insight

I am guessing the engine you have is a D16Z6? I have a old school SAAB turbo on my D16Y8, (same as old volvo) Which is a very fast small spooling turbo, I love it on the street!
About your tranny and clutch it all depends on how much boost you push and the conditon it is in. It might be a good idea to up grade to aftermarket clutch and maybe a 96+ D-tranny..(steel shift forks).
I still have the stock clutch with out any problems and I am boosting 10-12 psi daily driver. I have a 99 EX tranny so it is good to go for a while. ( got a ACT to put in but gonna put it off til I really need it)

I am not sure what you mean by spool time but I reach full boost around 3K in 2,3 rd and start falling off and getting full boost around 5k in 4 and never really stayed in it that hard after that. The problem I am having as of now is traction! It does not help I am on dinky *** 13" steelies
