Default D series oil pan question, and need advice please!

My friend took her civic ex to the dealer to get an oil change, and they called her and told her that the oil drain is stripped. They said she needs to buy a new oil pan and it would cost her 500 dollars. Is there anything that she can do?
If not, I have a d15b oil pan. Would that fit on a d16z6?

Thanks!

What? I bought a pan from Honda a year or so ago & it was between $80-$100, granted I did the labor & just got the pan, but damn....

All D series should work, but you may need to modify the pickup some to make it work.

It should. The easiest way to check is put a ball of clay on the pickup, and see how much it gets crushed during a test fit.

Thanks guys. I forgot about the search feature

But is there anything I can do about the dealer? Can they actually shaft her like this? I tried talking to the mechanic, and all he kept saying its not their fault and my friend needs to pay for it.

yeaa id say to just put a new bolt and washer on, 99% of the time its just the bolt. its made to strip before the pan.

I've got 2 extra d series pans laying around if you need one, but it sounds like you already have an extra. That stealership is trying to f_ck you IMO.
