Default D-series motor w/ a B-series head??

Hey, im a younger car enthusist that recently was in an accident due to a damn dear with my month old EH2. Repairs were coastly (tie rod, spindle, ball joint, axle, control arm...all easy crap thats over and done with... whats left is the 'frame alignment' and 'windshield'...together over $1k..) so im left with a DRIVEABLE car... not too much for a swap is in the account, so i was wondering 1) what is the dx stock motor (D15**) and 2) will a B-series head fit on a D-series block w/o any retro-fitting...?

Do a search in this forum and in the Hybrid forum using "mini me" or "mini-me" as a keyword.

This is like a little version of an LS/VTEC. DX block with an si/ex head. It makes more power and it's cheap. Probably what you're looking for.

No the head swap will not work.

When gamby said si/ex head, he means a SOHC VTEC head from a d16z6 or d16y8 or d15b (jdm VTEC ZC). Any of the aforementioned (haha! don't know where that word came from, I guess college is payin' off) heads will work on you d15 block. Just do a search like Si Erik said.

if you wanna swap w/out spending to much money, try a local junkyard and see if you can find a used d16z6, sohc, si motor, give you a nice 20 hp gain or so, or if you cant find one, u can search online and get a jdm d15b, basically the equivalent of your car in japan uses this motor and its basically a d16z6, sohc vtec, blah blah, just search around

B and D parts are like 2 straight chicks...they just won't go together no matter how much you want em to, or with any amount of convincing or video cameras.
