D-series engine weight?
Just trying to figuer out how much more the B20z is than my D16Y7. I know the B20 is 318 lbs. But what about the D16? Someone has to know...

Re: D-series engine weight? (Tiamat-blue)
I'm guessing somewhere between 125 and 150. It's about double that if you add the tranny. I haven't weighed them, but I have been lifting them on and off of an engine stand.

You He-man!
Ive been wondering if anyone knows the exact numbers myself. Any other engine weights people might know of?
Bump for this thread.

Re: D-series engine weight? (Tiamat-blue)
150lbs seems kinda light. Of course I haven't weighed one either but that'd make a b20 more than twice the weight of my engine. I'm also assuming that the 318 figure I've found for the b20(in several places) is just for the engine, and not the tranny. Hmmmmmmm.

I would say the b20 long block weighs about 100lbs more than the typical " d " series engine. With transmission, about 150lbs more.
