Default d-series

i'm wanting to get headers for my d16y7. but i'm not sure who to go with or what type of header (4-2-1 or 4-1)

i'm not in the position to do a engine swap or anything right now.

so why not work with what i've got.

4-1 is for top end power, 4-2-1 is for low-mid power. according to the newest hondatuning magazine

4-1 header design has lower ground clearance.performance wise like 2redstars said. on d series n/a setup, not really a big different

You also have to get an EX cat and shortened exhaust. Dont run without a cat.

Instead of buying a header for $50 on ebay, save up and buy a D16Y8 for a couple hundred bucks. That would add 20hp by itself. The potential is also better.

Or buy a Y8 or Z6(preferred) transmission for a couple hundred. WAY better mod than a header.

you could ebay it, but you get what you pay for, you know.

lol sounds good. but i'm 16 and aint got that much experience. so bolting up a tranny with a 12 pack doesnt seem like the smartest thing. sounds good tho.

bottom line, if your aching for a header for your D. Buy a used header, i've seen and sold D-series dc sport headers anywhere from $80-$150.

Good place to buy used headers? ebay, craigslist, HONDAMARKETPLACE....

to be honest, on a d series motor, a header isn't going to do very much. matter of fact, headers highflow cat, intake, and exhaust wouldn't do much. d-series besides the zc don't really respond well to bolt-ons simply because the are sohc, the zc is the only dohc d-series motor. but if you must have one, don't let me discourage you. it's your car, do what makes you happy. everyone told me don't worry about an intake, it won't help, but i love my 2 extra hp and i sure love that sound when i accelerate. anyways, i would search for a used one on ebay, or go to the h-t marketplace. as for the tranny, if you need help, let me know. if i can find some time i don't think brandon fl is that far away, maybe i can help, just swapped mine for an si tranny not too long ago. not hard, just a lot of work and a lot of kicking things.
