Default D.I.Y. Exhaust installation.....after CAI

I just put a cheapy CAI on my all stock 94 Delsol DOHC b16....

WOW.....what a difference!!!!

Now I wanna get some exhaust....header...new cat...muffler...

How hard is it to install your own header and cat ?

I will probably get a shop to do muffler.

Any recommendations on a good budget performance muffler ?

i hope you have an air compressor and an impact gun. otherwise, that **** will not work with only hand strenght. i tried... i'm probably a weak little kid. (headers, exhaust)

as for performance exhaust systems... i think they're all shitty haha. buy any muffler style you like and go to the muffler shop get a mandrel pipe. cost you under 150$

get an es oval muffler... nice sound, not too quiet but not too loud...

and you can definitely install your header and cat yourself. get a torque wrench, and possibly even a length of pipe to put on the end of it if you need some more leverage to tighten it to spec.

You can do it yourself. I did mine by myself. You just need a good wrench set and maybe some wd-40 to get the bolts off. If you get the full cat-back and headers, then you don't need to do any welding, so it should be easy if you got some jacks and jackstands....

Your a weak kid. I did my header and exhaust all with hand tools and some wd-40. It's pretty easy stuff to install.

You are.

I've removed PLENTY of exhaust systems by hand. 1/2" ratchet does the trick.

Yup I removed my exhaust system by hand with a 1/2" rachet. I have a air compressor and impact wrench but couldn't get it to most of the bolts as it was tight to get a wrench in there. I broke one bolt in half well 2 actually but the rest came out no problem and I did it all by hand. I didn't do the header though. For exhaust systems I like Skunk2/Invidia, Apexi WS if you want quite or N1 if you want loud nice looking system. The Skunk2/Invidia's are very loud though as is the N1.

Sounds good.....I've already bought a high flow CAT from ebay for 30 bucks.

I'll put that on first.

Then, I've seen DC ceremic 4-2-1 header for around $250 on ebay.
OR....there are off brands 4-1 Stainless header for $150....

Is that a good price ? Good Header ?

is stock exhaust size 2.1" ?

1/2 inch ratchet, extensions, sockets, spray lubricant of choice, and some patience. Disconnect 02 sensor(s), undo heat shield, undo stock headers (at the head and at the cat), take off gasket, install new gasket, install headers (reverse of removal). As for aftermarket exhaust, if you're putting an aftermarket muffler or exhaust can on, take that bitch to a shop, unless you know how to weld.
