You can put anything into any car you want. Seeing as how some of the 6th gen Civics and come Del Sols came with B-series why do you feel the need to even ask this question?
Check the FAQs.

Wondering what cars to look for at junkyard that I could pull better motor out of and swap in for better horsepower, they charge 150 a block with head and some components

Re: d to b series swap, car and year application
From everything I'm researching d series motor I got can't put down that much HP, I did mini me swap, skunk2 IM, header, Cai, exhaust, advanced timing 2 degrees, auto trans and don't know what my next step is? Head work? Block work? Swap? I'm pretty mechanically inclined so whatever I need to buy I can install myself

Well you will get nowhere with all motor D series...especially with AUTO trans! Either swap 5spd and boost the D or swap it for a B series...I would just look for a b16a2 from a 99-00 civic SI or find a B18 from a 96+ integra.

For the American market you can pull b series motors from 99-00 Civic Si, 90-01 Integras and 95-01 CRVs. Those are the cars you mainly want to look for. As for what you have right now, I'd convert to a manual transmission and run a turbo set-up if you're looking for a bit more power.

Re: d to b series swap, car and year application
Here is the lowdown on B swaps:
90-93 Integra = B18A1. These motors are OBD0, and are only really good if there is a lot of them in your area so you can get parts easy.
94-01 Integra LS/RS/GS = B18B1. These motors are OBD1 up to 95, then OBD2 from 96+. They're non vtec, and a good motor if your looking to boost or just a cheap swap. They're cheap and pretty easy to come by.
94-01 Integra GSR = B18C1. Vtec, more expensive than the B1, but good if your looking to go all motor, or a more expensive boosted build.
99-00 Civic Si = B16A2. Vtec, doesn't have as much power as the C1, cheaper than the C1, but a bit harder to find parts for since there weren't as many years of them, which means not as many out there.
Those are about all your options as far as B swaps go. I would go 96+ B1 swap if your looking for affordability, or a 96+ C1 swap if your looking for more power. The B16A2's tend to be overpriced, at least in my area. I've never driven a Civic with one, but I've heard they're pretty gutless, and not exactly the best unless you plan on building it. Just my .02 . .
