CYP CODE 9, Honda told me this will fix it .. Is it true??
Hey guys, A short quick Q... I currently have a CYP sensor, car runs fine and all but after having the car taken in at the dealership for warranty and tuneup, they told me the CEL was for this.. They also told me that it was a short in the wire but they told me the wire that is short was eaten by the drive belt? From my knowledge CYP sensor wires from on the passenger shock tower not near the driver is it? I have spotted the wire they are talking about it is here.. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1581953, So they said a quick $250 and they will rewire it for me but it doesnt make sense? Can anyone make sense of this for me? Thanks
P CODES:
P1381 Cylinder Position (CYP) Sensor Intermittent Interruption
P1382 Cylinder Position (CYP) Sensor No Signal

If the wire is "eaten" away, then you need to fix it. A break in the wire will cause the code. No need to replace the sensor, fix the wire.
Where in Cali are you? I'll fix the wire for a LOT less then $250.

Ahhh.. Thats in the distributor and can only be resolved by swapping the dist. I have the same problem in my 93 DX. Its killing the mileage too.

Perhaps you have a break in the wire? Get out the ole multimeter and start checking for continuity. B11 and B12 are the two pins at the ECU for the cylinder position sensor. Between the two, with the dist plugged in, you should get 350-700ohms. Check that also.
