Default cylinder 3 has oil on it what's the issue?

alright i really didn't know what title i could give this but i have oil on my cylinder 3, its not a lot and i also think it's carbon but i know i am burning oil and the problem is in the head(seals, seats, guilds,or gaskets) could be the problem, i have a 99 civic si stock engine, i did a compression test it was good, timing is good, plugs, dis. cap and all that is good, is it my valve seats or seals or my head gasket or what, i know the problem is in my head and not the block but not sure and i just wanted to kind of have an idea of what it could be before i replace everything, i am taking apart the head this or next week with my uncle so i would like some advice before hand, any more questions just ask thanks.

for D series engine: I had the same problem but in 4,3,2 cylinders.. My best guess is it is the O rings underneath the cams/rocker arms assembly.. kind of confusing and alot of people forget to check there. You can probably clean the valve cover gaskets/O rings on top of it.. remember there are two sets of O rings. GL and heres a link to a video that should definitely help: http://www.youtube.com/user/EricTheC...33/wYU8qtPzQOY

Could be bad rings in cyl 3... If your rings are bad then they are not sealing correct letting oil pass through with could cause the pistons to have oil on them...

A Leak Down test will tell you if its in the head or the pistons.

Good luck!

Oops forgot to tell you how I fixed my problem on my car You should still do a compression test for good measure, but I think the issue is electrical/ignition. For me it was at least. Take out the spark plug boots and just replace them... if you don't want to replace them for some reason or your tight on cash clean them and don't forget the inside of them also. Next, take your spark plugs out and I guarantee with oil leaking the top of the plugs are probably black with gunk.. clean those off too... don't forget to put electrode grease on the top again! You might want to go crazy with the grease to make a temporary seal to keep oil from seeping in. This should fix your problem for now until you replace the rings.
