cx/vx tranny highway rpm?
i might change my clutch within this year, before i head to a university thats about 2 hours away. i currently have a D15b7 motor/dx tranny.
I want to save as much gas as possible since im always broke, and i dont care much about power, just enough for a DD is fine. I had thought about a Z6 trans but really.. i dont even floor it that much/not into the streetracing stuff anymore. So what are the cruising rpms for the tranny? currently my rpms is like 2,600 @ 60, 3,100 @ 65, 3,600 @ 70, just + 500 rpm for every 5 mph extra
my tranny has grinds in the 1st gear, so since i will be changing the clutch, might as well change the tranny to a longer geared one when its off . on the classifieds its around 100 bucks for a 92-95 tranny. thanks

CX TRANNY
1st = 3.25
2nd = 1.762
3rd = 1.066
4th = 0.853
5th = 0.702
final = 3.25 (same as axle ratio)
if 4th gear ratio is wrong, i don't care, that's all from memory

Re: cx/vx tranny highway rpm? (Bense)
IT doesnt matter what kind of tranny you have, it all depends on how much gas/throttle you give it.
I dont beat on my GSR and i get like 27-30mpg, my friends are constantly beating on it, and they get crappy gas milage.
