cvt question
Alright, here's the story:
1999 Civic Hx (Cvt) 137xxx miles. I've had it since about 133xxx and lately at about 1500 rpms under light throttle it will jerk and sputter really bad. But that is the only time it acts like that. Under full throttle or barely any throttle it runs fine. And only around 1500 rpms. Anybody got an idea of what it might be? Besides my cvt bein a piece of ****.

Re: cvt question (mikester_91)
Does it do the same thing in reverse?
If not, I would suspect the forward clutch is wearing out, what is the condition of the fluid. Take a paper towel and wipe the dipstick on it, if it appear "peppered" with little grains of stuff in there, that is the clutch material. Since line pressure goes up as the throttle is pressed, this causes the clutches to press harder, and at light throttle, that may not be enough pressure because the clutches are worn out.
