CV boots and rats
My wife took her 01 Civic EX in for a front brake job at 23,000 miles and was told that in addition it looks like some animal had been eating both fron cv boots. I went to look while it was still up on the rack and sure enough it looks like some wild thing tore them into shreads. Is this normal? We have no rats in our garage, and she parks the car next to others at work. How can I stop it from happening again since it cost $300 to replace them both.

I sure hope youre kidding about the cost. Two new boots will run you about $16 here.
To prevent it try to park away from the trees small bushes, etc. and people kinda forget to wash the undercarage... for all you know it could have been a cat that probably found some food stuck there...its just an opinion
