cv axles gap question

Default cv axles gap question

should there be a gap between the cv axle and the transmision?

there is a slight gap between them

how big of a gap do you have?

um maybe one third of an inch. i thought the axles were supposed to fit snug against the trans.

Are you sure they're in all the way? Give them a firm tug.

if they fit completely snug then they would tear up the axle seals.

1/3 of an inch seams like alot tho.

take them out and make sure everything is ok with the splines and make sure the clips are still on the ends of them. i have seen those clips come off in the diff and make the axles not go in all the way.

okay thanx i will take them off and put them on again. this is why the whole disk wiggles right? is the 32 mm bolt on the axles the only thing that holds the disks so they wont wiggle.

the axle nut does not hold your rotor on. The wheels does. From the factory you can note that there are little screws that honda uses to keep them on during the manufacturing process

exactly, those screws are not necessary

oh okay, so when i tighten the lug nuts i tighten the rotor also?
