CV axle replacement on a b16 Sol
Hey everyone! I'm replacing the driver side cv axle and i'm having trouble. The driver side axle doesn't connect directly to the side of the transmission like the passenger side does. I think people call it a half axle? Anyways, i'm confused where i'm supposed to disconnect the axle from. Do I unbolt the half axle and knock it out of the side of the transmission or can I just knock the cv axle out of the half axle. Sorry if that sounds confusing =/

They can be a pain to remove from the half shaft. I've had to pull the axle and half shaft together, put one end in a vise and tap the axle out with a hammer and punch.
I recommend applying a good anti seize compound on the splines where the two connect.

Thank you sir. After looking at the new axle I kinda figured that it'd be unnecessary to take the halfshaft off. Luckily it didn't take too much force to pop the old one out! +1
