Cutting Side Moldings?
Hey! I was wondering if any one has done a little DIY, and thinned down their side moldings?? mine are ungly as hell, and really like the look of the JDM ones, but my search for actual jdm ones for my car, havent turned anything up...
So, i was thinking, why not just buzz em down half an inch on my own?? Only thing.. i have no idea how to go about this.. first thought was like, get a belt sander or something.. but wouldnt that leave it rough?? i dunno, some one must have done this.. lemme know if so! share the knowledge! and TIA!
edit: also, does any one know if the ek ones fit the eg's at all? my guess would be no, but, i am often wrong..

Just shave your side moldings completely off.
If you really want to cut them down i guess you could get some gruff sand paper and just start sanding then smooth it out with a fine paper :shurgs:

It's been awhile, but if I remember correctly, the stock moldings are hollow. Even if they're not, it would be difficult to get them straight all the way across, so theyr'e not wavy.

Yeah I too think it would come out kinda ghetto looking.
I have seen aftermarket side moldings that are a lot
thinner the oem honda. I had to ask the guy if they
were the real ones, so I guess they didnt look too bad.
Sorry I dont have any links that have aftermarket. I would
guess places like pep boys and such.

yeah, i don't think this will work. i had mine off last summer for some body work, and what i remember is that they are shaped like a C, meaning they are hollow. so, i don't know how much you would be able to sand down, if even possible, before you broke through and now had a hole in your molding.
