Cutting bumpstops on a '96 Civic EX, w/ H&R race / KYB AGX.
In the included pamphlet the springs came with, it said for an extra .5" of lowering, cut the bumpstop 1.0", but I'm just curious how will this affect me?
In the long run will my **** bottom out, or any other negative effects?
I mean, I'd love to drop my coupe 3.0" and 2.75", that'll be a MEAN look.
Let me know what I should do

cut them. if you ask in the suspension forum, everyone will tell you to. some people even say they had better ride quality after they cut them.

No...I'm on Skunk2 coilover sleeves and KYB AGX shocks. My bumpstops have been cut down an inch. Same setup as when I had my Sprint drop springs though.

See thats my worries, with all my favorite ej8's on coilovers, I'm worried that my car might not be low enough with these H&R race

As I can recall those springs will give a nice drop.
I believe those are 2.5 rear and 2 3/4 in the front.
My friend had them on his EM1.
Plenty of a drop, I should say alot more then you would want driving down the cross bronx haha

Hahaha that sounds good now. I don't really drive on the Cross Bx, and I'd say I have some decent pothole dodging skills.
I live by this: 'If sparks don't fly, your ride's too high'

I'm not sure either, but its an official document that came in the box w/ my H&R springs. I can take a picture of it if necessary

If you're low enough, the spring will compress and the top hat will rest on top of the bump stop, keeping the suspension from fully setting in place. Cut the bumpstop and use 1" of the bottom piece so that the top hat will not be resting on top of it unless you are super low then you can't do anything about it unless you get extended top hats, shortened shocks, or a full coilover that can shorten the shocks.

Obviously it will affect the height if the spring isn't settled in. Like he said it will sit on the stop.
