acutally thats a good idea thats been time and time again. well if im understaning you correctly. running larger diameter piping from the cat/header back to the stock muffler is a good idea to keep the cops away without limiting performance all that much.

well u can just bolt it right back up, its not a really hard procedure. it will not sound stock. i duno if u can feel any difference. but its better than cuting ur tip and wishing u never cut it. wouldnt it be better if u just unbolted it and if u didnt want it just bolt it back up.

Cutting your tip off at the muffler will change the sound, but not hurt anything.
Removing your muffler completely will get you a ticket for all the noise. You also probably won't be able to stand the noise, and your neighbors will throw rocks at your car.

The previous owner of my car had an axle-back tip - no muffler. It was loud, but not incredibly loud - just a tad louder than my 2.5" mandrel bent system with a Magnaflow can. I could stand it for daily driving.

Can u just un bolt the pipe at the header and have it just sit there and not move.....im asking this cause i hit a bump one day and it made a hole in my muffler it sounds ok a little bit of backfire noise but i was wondering if i could just unbolt it at the header and will it just sit there and not move?

You're bottlenecking all the exhaust gas up to the stock muffler, so you'd be wasting your money.

Why would that do anything at all? Make it louder, thats about it, you can just cut the mufler off.

It's loud - too loud. Don't do it.
