It will probably ride like *** and blow out the shocks pretty soon, if they aren't already. I'd definitely swap some lowered springs in there. They aren't that expensive.

Well there are the "best" shocks for the car and then there are the best shocks for YOU and your driving requirements. In all seriousness from the sounds of your experience level and unknown direction you want to go with your car, I'd throw on a set of KYB GR 2's and some lowering springs and call it a day. Make your car safe to drive again inexpensively and then figure out where you want to go with the car ( establish some goals ) before you make any more mods.

just get adjustable shocks and coilovers, then you can adjust to your preference. I have KYG ABX adjustables w/ crappy coilovers, there fine for my needs.

p.s. once you blow a strut, it reduces the tire life by at least 50%.

Fanatix you should really use the search button before you post. Most of the question you are asking can be answered by just searching, thats why honda-tech put a search.

And Pioneer we were all newbs at one time...

Yes, they are "bad for your car".

They will have the same soft spring rates as stock, but less travel, so you'll live on your bump stops.

The stock springs aren't progressive rate but they also are paired up with struts and shocks that are designed for a certain height of spring. You are drastically going to shorten the life of your struts and shocks. The bottom line is you need stiffer springs

hey, "no" and "know" are not the same word.
please make a note of this, and replace those cut springs soon. there are more than few people selling springs in the classifieds so go there.
