Custom Upper Grill - Front H Removal Technique
A while back some people were discussing their feud with removing the H on the upper grill of their Civics and how ugly it looks because of the extra plastic behind the H which creates a silhouette of an H still there and looks stupid (not including Si’s). So this tip & trick goes out to all you non-Si owners who really want to get rid of that H on the front of their car.
I tried this out because I too wanted to get rid of the H emblem on my grill, but didn’t want to go out and purchase a brand new grill, and then try and get it painted exactly to match my car. So I PhotoShopped a few pictures of what the grill could look like if just the H were removed and nothing else. IOW, I didn’t want to cut out the entire innards of the grill leaving a gaping hole. I wanted to leave the vertical and horizontal pieces that make up the stock look of a Civic grill.
In the end, this is what it looks like. If you think this mod or look might be for you, stop by my site and read the whole how-to on doing it yourself. It’s very easy to do, costs nearly nothing, and I think it looks awesome. http://www.audioart.cc/97civic/uppergrill.html

That looks way cool. I think you should sell them too. It's a really good idea. The grill looks so much better all black and with out the H.

Thanks for the from everyone. This forum is so much nicer than some other Honda forums out there. I should hang out here more often. It isn't that hard a modification to perform really. I hadn't planned on doing it, till one day I was bored, there was a razor blade just way too close, and before I could stop myself, my grill was all cut up. Then I was forced to figure out a solution. I think it worked out pretty good. If anyone else ends up doing this, I want to see pics of how theirs turned out.
