I did this for winter so that I wouldn't suck up water. How does it look? How will it perform? Any questions, comments? Thanks

Re: custom intake (Tenzo Racer)
its still gonna suck 80% hot air.... you might want to just cough up the cash to get an actual cold air intake where the filter will be in the correct air to absorb the cool air

Re: custom intake (ian)
I have an aem cold air system but my bumper is really open on the front and I did not want to suck up water. Does anyone think that a filter like the arospeed bov style filter with a heat shield will help? I just wanted to do something different/ custom for the winter.

I doubt that will do anything. The only way to make that work is to either have air being forced through the vent- moving fast, OR, enclose the filter with a plastic/plexiglass box so it ONLY pulls air through the vent

when your car's moving fast, air will probably be forced through the vent, but probably no TOO much. It's worth a shot though. Best bet is to enclose the filter from that venting- but that's too risky in the winter

Re: custom intake (Emerica)
I am thinking of buying a piece of pvc 45 degree to angle the filter and then buy a filter that draws in air from the top rather than the sides, so that way the filter is completly inside the shield.

you brought it to the forum ***! I am trying to have a serious conversation here. The Rice Boy comment was uncalled for. I am not the one driving around in a stock del sol and bragging about weak times and dynos. Get a life.

learn how to spell, and maybe even form a complete sentence in english and we will talk. My name is tenzo r only because I have the rims and I like them. Big deal. Why don't you get the f**k back on your jdm bandwagon and get the hell out of here.
