Re: Custom EG Gauge Cluster (BADEG6)
Isnt that the super rare spoon cluster for EF thats worth like 2 grand or something? So not worth it. I could make that myself for 400 or less using Autometer.

Where's the tech? A custom gauge cluster is a cool piece that is fairly technical.

Re: Custom EG Gauge Cluster (Ausmith)
all the gauges are made by spa design in the uk... just follow the directions on getting them to work.
http://www.spa-uk.co.uk/design/dualgauges.htm
now lets talk about that black gauge part..
like where did you get it or how was it made if it was custom made

Re: Custom EG Gauge Cluster (Ausmith)
Okay okay okay... enough response from the pics to post details.
1) Started with a stock DX cluster. Took it all apart and used a die grinder with barrel sander to remove the inside section. Basically left with nothing but the outer plastic.
2) Designed and cut a CF panel (1/16" 4 layer Carbon) using a band saw and various hole saws. This takes some time and decent measuring tools. Make a cardboard template first and then trace onto the CF sheet
3) Epoxied the panel to the back side of the stock housing. I did my best to get the fit of the panel close to the shape of the opening on the plastic housing.
4)The edges on the front side, where the CF panel meets the plastic housing, were all filled with bondo like material to get a nice "molded" look.
5)Sand everything very well and paint with primer and flat black paint
6)Yes this piece is fully functional. All gauges are by SPA Technique.
7)Everything, except Speedo, was wired in using the factory dash wire harness. I used a 16 wire plug that I had from a junk harness so this baby plugs in just like a factory piece.

That looks like boosted hybrids cluster. Nice job.
But if I could ever gather up the dough and the nerve to spend it. I would go for a stack cluster. Stack > everything else
