currently using D15B7, switching to D16A6..
is there anything I'm going to have to rig up to work, its a 92 EG8 with a 94 EX tranny with the SI final gear. manual rack and pinion swap, very clean, I just need to know if there will be any issues with going with an older motor like that.
thats the old motor that is coming out, and also, can I use the intake manifold off of my B7? its currently out getting ported and polished to match the GSR throttle body I have for it... and I'd like to be able to use it with the A6.

swap the rear temp sensor over to OBDi version, swap over the timing belt side mount and distributor. A6 and b7 are similiar in flow rates, but b-series TB compatibility is nice.

ok gotta change this, its not a D16A6, its a D15B2. I've switched over my intake manifold, and all of the sensors I've needed to but the rear temp sensor on the thermostat housing cus the housing wont bolt directly up the the tube thingy it attaches to, should I switch that all over too?

current motor is shot beyond belief, its cheaper to switch it over to this motor than to rebuild my current one. and. I need a running car badly, I was let down by my passat when its transmission broke, so I gotta rush to get this running.

this is the motor when I bought it
this is how immaculate it is inside... which is weird....
this is it now, waiting to be installed.
cept for switching out the tube for the thermostat and the housing, and the alternator bracket and the alternator and anything else I figure out I need to switch at the last moment.

Yes it is!
I think D15B2 is OBD0 version of D15B7(OBD1).
anyway bottom end and head is interchangable. Distributor, intake man + sensors + injectors, harness, are ODB specific.

well I already switched out injectors, harness, sensors, intake, distributor, and the only problem I'm seeming to have with it right now would be where the water temp sensor is. on the b2 its on the back of the motor, and on my b7 its on housing for the thermostat. and now I'm just wondering if I can switch the whole tube that goes from the back of the water pump to the thermostat...

Re: (metroya_perform)
Just tap the wires to the sensor on the block, does the same thing, that sensor has the same values resistance wise, as the one in the t-stat housing. If you want you can transfer over the tube, however, you may need to replace the o ring on the tube. Had that leak on me before when I did something of the similair sorts. I would also say while its out, do the timing belt at the very least, and swap over the cam. I think its 10 bolts that hold the cam down, and you can use a silver marker to mark the timing belt locations, both belt and pulleys, If you're unfamiliar/uncomfortable, on the timing belt. I had a dpfi motor i swapped to mpfi before. That cam sux performance wise. Unless you want that super awesome gas mileage. Best of luck, If I was closer to you, I'd offer to lend a hand, but i'm about 2hrs north from you.

well, I'm buying the whole head gasket kit, which includes all of those gaskets, including that rubber seal, but my old motor just had a brand new water pump put on and the timing belt... and I've only put on about 350 miles on the belt and pump since it was installed, and to respond to that other guys question, I'm installing this motor because I cant find a decent b-series motor with everything to swap over, annnnd, I happen to be a delivery driver out here and my volkswagen passat's tranny broke.

hey I'm not bashing B motors, they are not horrible, I just prefer my Sohc... what makes it awesome tho is that my civic with 242xxx miles on it was faster than a bone stock integra.... from the late 80s...

What an ingenious statement. I guess the almost two decades of high performance applications and racing heritage under the B-clans belt must be by mistake.
