Default curious about going NA with 2000 si

i got a 2000 civic si. im curious about what to do since i've kinda decided on going NA. i live in CA and i hate the idea of getting pulled over with a turbo. dunno how much that fine would be. anyone know that? lol. i kinda dont wanna do the IHE since it really doesnt do much for my car. so anyone have ideas? thanks. one more question, anyone heard of the ravelco security system?

well a good header, and exaust will benifit alot, especially with a b16 with the higher revs. intake will help too. it wont add 50 hp, but its a good 5-10. if you want a na car, look at getting some cams, valves, valve springs. do a good port job on your head. also get some higher compression pistons. get everything tuned, larger injectors, the list goes on and on. its a good penny for something that most likely wont break 200 whp.

^^^^ you can break 200whp with a full head build, bolt ons, and a good tune. If you went with Ti retainers, dual valve springs then went with some stage 3 cams, a ported head, high compression valves, a intake, intake manifold, header, fuel rail, cam gears and a full dyno tune you would be close to 200whp. the only downside is with work like that you will have trouble keeping it emissions legal.

yea thats how NA setups work. the setup i listed above will run him about 6k where if he used 3k for a turbo setup he would be making 300whp easy.

OP...I just moved out of Cali for smog reasons...if you plan on making any real power going N/A you can forget passing smog (unless you have the hook-up of a life time). And as others have mentioned DEEP pockets. Cali sucks for modding cars bro buy an evo or something else fast out of the box.

Or do as others have done and mod their car and throw a stocker back in when it comes time to test

Dude, honestly, just save your money...I'm in the same boat as you financially and I built/swapped in a GS-R with the intentions of going turbo. Just about every other week I start looking at turbo stuff but shake off the idea quickly when the list starts to add up realistically.

I'd just put my money towards suspension upgrades and save the performance upgrades for when I have the cash to actually DO something.

But, in case you don't want to go that route...the I/H/E is the usual combo, but you won't see any gain without a tune...and stage 3 cams would probably be a bit overkill if it's a pretty much stock daily driver.
