CTR HEAD LIGHTS
instead of buying ctr head lights, can you tint your oem head lights?.. for me, it looks the same between stock and ctr head lights except ctr has dimmer lenses... so has anyone done this?.. or should i just buy the ctr lights..?.. opinion please~~

Is $400-500 worth a city light, tinted lens and different housing? If not, pry your stock ones open and paint them. I've seen some nice ones painted gunmetal/grey and they look good. maybe someone else can provide you with the color they used along with pics. Personally, I'm waiting to make a trip to JDM-land to get me some souvenier CTR headlights!

Re: CTR HEAD LIGHTS (HENRY)
Henry quick question. I run HIDs in my current housings. If I were to get the CTR lights would I be able to wire them so that the City lights were always on and the HIDS kick in when I switch the lights on?
Thanks

Re: CTR HEAD LIGHTS (StanBo)
CTR has no reflectors surrounding the bulb vs. the US ones... This is just a guess but if your HID is not a H4 kit with the adapter and stuff, the light will scatter all over the place with the CTR housing.

went running hid's on the ctr there really bright that if you do not point them down you will be blinding people !
but they look great ,the reflector is for not being so bright , but ctr headlights done not have them .
as for painting them well (your stocks)there ok . i went thru that thought if there were worth it or not and all i could say there worth every penny

Re: CTR HEAD LIGHTS (Spoon1)
Yo quick tip guys, if your to paint your stock lights, and you happen to have a paint shop with a spray gun, mix a pint of clear coat and 1 squirt of black tint, ppg makes it I dont have the codes to either. mix it well and spray it, you will have a reflective black tint almost identical in appearance to true type R. Dont just paint it black because it will NOT reflect. CHeers.

I have CTR housing and I think there worth it. Dont paint your stock ones. Either buy CTR or leave them stock till you can afford CTR's.That way if you get CTR housing and you dont like them you could awlays go back to stock and sell the CTR's. if you paint the stocks and dont like them youll be stuck with them. Just my opinion.

I have CTR headlights, and they are worth it in my opinion because i cracked my stock one , the differences are citylights, no amber reflector, slight smoking of the headlights, and thre is no defector ( cap ) for your headlight bulb, which the usdm cars have to focus the light. HID's are stock housings are bad enough where it scatters.. but on the ctr assemblies it would be worst! I have seen some paint oem headlights and they look really good, i believe they sell a SMOKE color paint those would be the best bet to paint the housing. Whether they are worth it or not is up to you... honestly in the daytime they don't look smoked at all, when it gets darker they look a lil darker. However in pics they appear to be really tinted.. i dunno why that is. If u want HID's paint your stockers if u want to go with CTR headlights, they are really nice but expensive.. u don't have to worry about sealing the lights up etc. I wanted to do HID's but i didnt want the light beam to scatter, so i just got CATZ ZETA's those look really HIDish especially with piaa plasmas. I also wired my turn signals off, and my city lights to be my driving lights. So the turn signals only light up when signaling and with 1 click city lights go on, 2 click headlights go on.

Re: CTR HEAD LIGHTS (Russell Wong)
my friend just got CTRs and he took the reflector cap from his USDM ones and put them on his CTR ones, he said you have to or else it wont shine correctly, is this correct? can i run the CTRs without that little cap over the bulb?

i painted my stock headlights. I used "Universal Grey" engine paint to match my fogs
if u can afford CTR go for it, if not, be experimental and paint them. I did the oven method.

I don't have the cap over my bulbs and they shine correctly. I haven't had vision problems and no one has flashed me yet.

Re: CTR HEAD LIGHTS (takumi_79)
I just put my CTR headlights in today! I had some black housing headlights from
Tenzo R before. The CTR's shine a lot brighter without the reflector.
