Default CTR folding mirror BREAKDOWN???

o.k. ...i'm either retarded or i'm not approaching this correctly

I'm trying to breakdown (take apart) my jdm CTR self-folding mirrors and the harness that runs thru the base to the mirror is all one peice and I cant see how it comes un-done ,,only thing I can figure is cut harness then resolder the wires once pianted (looks like i could notch the metal base) but i figure i would damage the structual integrity of the mirros base

and also does anyone by chance know if you can swap out the actual mirror part
with the USDM ones ,,,,(u kaint see **** outta the passengers mirror) or any trick to make the passengers side go-out to the right further ((to the guys out there reading this wondering why i would want my passegers mirror to go out right more ,,well its cuz that the drivers side in japan and the mirror need not travel that far to the right)) to the guys that have done this mirror swap YOU exactly what i'm talkin about

I'm new to this site,,AND ITS DA SHIZZNIT ,,you guys have to be the most informed honda forum out there,,,I'd like to think all the guys here who've allredy givin my lots of info and making my EK jdm tight son,,,O.K. the last part was kinda gay

u can't jsut tape it for painting?

BTW: Can I just ask why u purchased folding mirrors?

You park your car in a garage? ... or is it a styling thing?

EDIT:
PS: I'm not flaming you, just wondering

depends how particular u are. always come out nicer if u take it apart. it will look like **** when it folds in cuz paint cant get in there when painting both the base plate and mirror housing at the same time.
