I just got some ctr cams and I was wondering what kind of period I should break them in with before I get on them?

Cams dont need to be broken in. Just tune it and you'll be good to go.

Are you sure I wouldnt have to break them in because they are brand new, they still havent been taken out of the wrapper yet. I just dont want to mess up my investment.

Ok then just drive 3-4k for 1000miles then change the oil then stomp on it. Just dropping cams in an engine wont produce significant gains until the motor is tuned. Everyone has different break-in procedures so just search for break in techniques and you should get some good answers on other ways to break it in.

Wrong? Its right according to me. According to you it may not be. Like i said, there are alot of different ways to break in a motor. The way I posted worked for me and that is why I posted it.

the correct way to break in cams is what the previous guy said about a constant rpm for 15-30 minutes.

you are talking about breaking in an entire motor, which is entirely different.

the way i break in my cams. i let the car run for 15-20 mins at 3k rpms and then an additional 10-15 mins at 4500 RPMS

I've never had to break-in a set of cams. I broke in my entire motor so I figured doing cams would be the same. I guess you learn something new everyday.

Remember to apply liberal amounts of assembly lube to all friction surfaces during the installation.

i've always heard that you need to run your car at idle for about 15 minutes, then you're good to go.

somethin like that..you'd think that with a vtec car, run it in vtec to break in those lobes too..

I would also change the oil after your done breaking it in. This gets all the assembly lube and etc. out of the engine.
