Because they are both R-12 systems....will a compressor from 88-91 Civics fit 92- 94 R-12 fitted Civics? Thanks

no the a/c lines mount on the compressor differently. another note if you are going to buy a compressor, 92-93 and 94-95 are different. you must buy a 92-93 compressor

I'm digging up this old thread because it relates to some interesting info I've just found out. Apparently the R-12 A/C compressor found int he CRX does in fact fit in the R-12 equipped 92-93 Civics. The only catch is that you must use the CRX PM5 a/c bracket, and this eliminates your left side lower engine torque mount.

The reason I know this is because my friend and I just discovered that is the setup that is currently installed in his 92 Civic CX. Apparently a previous owner of this car had the A/C worked on from spare parts and this is what they came up with. The compressor itself fits both refrigerant lines perfectly, and works perfectly.

The major issue we ran into was when attempting a B-series swap into his car this past weekend. Assuming it was a 92-93 TF090 compressor we purchased a 2000 CRV P7J A/C mount to make life easy. Well when we installed it, we realized not one of the bolts would fit that attach the compressor to the bracket. Now we are really up **** creek. Do we replace the compressor (that's only a year old) with the proper TRF090 & get the a/c system purged again, or do we have a custom bracket made to make the CRX compressor fit? Only time will tell...
