CRVTEC setup
Could the B20VTEC setup be used for autocrossing rather than going straight, or is the engine to heavy for autocrossing? Please let me know. Thanks!
Oh, And the car is a 92 civic hatch, thats what i want to do the hybrid on

engien weighs the same as any other b series motor, problem is youll be spinning your tires a lot on an autocross cross. a bigger motor isnt the key to winnign at autoX, practice is

Re: CRVTEC setup (SilverCivic2k)
Actually CRVTEC is damn good for auto-crossing. With the gobbs of torque, most of which is available from 2000rpm on up through the powerband, you have a huge advantage over smaller displacement engines. As for the weight factor - there isnt one. Someone already mentioned that the B20 weighs the same as any other B-series engine. The H22 is what causes weight distribution problems

Re: CRVTEC setup (EGSiX92)
yea i think you'd be set on auto x, for the wheel spin, you'd probably get some in like first, but once you hit second and stay in it, you'd have the torque to get you out of turns and nothing beats practice though. peace

Re: CRVTEC setup (EGSiX92)
if u still want to do the swap, i have a b20 shortblock for sale.
and i dont see why you couldnt autocross with it, i think its cool that someone is planning to do something different instead of using it for only drag racing.

Re: CRVTEC setup (madhatch)
b20 long block $800
b16 vtec head $400
lsd hydro tranny $1000
misecellneous parts $?
This would be the bare essentials. This would run, but don't plan on it lasting very long if run hard.
