cruise control throttle cable removal?

cruise control throttle cable removal?
Can I cut or disconnect/remove the throttle cable coming from the fire wall>? Is there a plug to get to fill the firewall hole?

just remove the cable, then go to the local autoparts store and get some rubber plugs/grommets.
