Default cruise control in em1

a couple years ago i bought a 00 Si. it came with an aftermarket steering wheel and thus did not come with the cruise control switch. the horn is not hooked up in the aftermarket steering wheel. I took the steering column cover off to inspect to see if there is any connectors that may be for the cruise switch.(there is a yellow and a green wire in a yellow shrink tube that has been snipped)--->is this for the horn? also there is light grey, blue, and brown wires that lead into a male plugin. the pug in is black(dont kno if someone has altered this or not). there is also no clockspring on this car, just these two sets of wires that i have described. well the black plug in did not fit in the cruise switch so i altered it to somewhat fit. went for a test drive and nothing. the main dash mounted cruise button lights up but nothing wrks after that....no cruise. can someone tell me if the blue, light grey, and brown wires are the cruise control wires. and any other help would be great! thanx.

anything in yellow loom or shrink tubing is pretty much reserved for airbags. light green/red and light green/black are the wire colors you should be looking for in the steering column. Horn wire should be blue.

well i just pulled off steering wheel and tucked in the hub was a black wire. could this be a ground for the horn? also if the horn wire would be blue, why would it be linked in to the same plug in as the brown and light grey wires are? thanx.

Thats what i don't get, i have the 2000 Si cruise control wiring diagram right in front of me, but it doesn't seem to be matching up to the wires you have, although it looks like the horn starts out grey, then turns to blue, goes throught cable reel that you probably don't have, and then turns black. I'm not seeing a light brown wire anywhere near the steering column.

i know, its messed up. i also have the wiring diagram, but cant figure it out. the male plug in has 4 openings of which 3 are only live wires. i notice the cruise switch has 4 prongs inside the yellow female plug. after looking at the wire diagram this seems to be somewhat correct. it shows 3 live wires(blue light grey and brown) being plugged in to the switch, which has 4 prongs(one prong plugs intothe blank/dead spot). im by no means an electrician but would like to figure this out soimewhat. ive heard the horn needs to be hooked up?--->do i need to wire up my horn button to get the cruise to work?...maybe it acts as a ground??

after looking more at my manual. im pretty sure that the 4p connector with the 3 live wires is actually the cable reel sub harness 3P connector. so two of those wires has to be for the cruise switch and the other may be for the horn(blue)?? haha im just throwing some stuff out there. also just went back out and looked at the 3 live wires that i have been talking about, and the brown wire is not brown, it seems to be an orangish color.

The horn wire is supposed to be blue on the wheel side of the cable reel. I'm not seening any orange colored wires at all for the cruise control circuit. Honestly i'm as confused as you are about this, but perhaps if you could take some pictures of the wires in question it would help.
