blanks. Slotted/drilled are for looks or 50 year old pads. Today, pads do not produce large amounts of gas like the pads of the past.
blanks = cheaper, more surface area= better braking, can be turned = longer life

I have seen cars that raced with cross drilled and after just a few races you see small cracks connecting dot to dot! get blanks if you actually care about performance and not just looks!

ive heard from several people that the drilled ones often crack and that if you do plan to get some type of rotor that isnt a blank type, get the slotted as the point is to remove heat to give the pads a better grip because they are cooler... dunno if it actually works like that but i do know that the blanks get warped as mine right now are warped pretty badly... dont know if the slotted ones get warped easily but i dont think they can be turned if they do get warped...

i know a lot of the mercedes cars some with slotted and or drilled rotors... dont know if they put them there for performance or looks as i bet 99% of the mercedes customers really wouldnt give a damn if they had slotted/drilled or blanks, i work for lexus and a good 75-80% of the customers dont even know what car they have...

This thread throughly answers the question of blanks vs cross drilled or slotted.

Oh, yeah use blanks. They are a wear item. Get the cheapest stuff you can find and run it to the ground.

I have powerstop crossdrilled rotors... I got them because they were the ONLY brake upgrade on my last car and there was a definate difference after installing them...
I've had mine on the front for over 80k and there are NO signs of wear or warping... the CAN be cut. Powerstop and the vendor BOTH told me that even if the do warp I don't have to cut them because they will replace them for free (minus shipping).
I know that H-T is very for brembo blanks... and maybe in racing conditions they are better... but I have to say that from my own personal experience I LOVE my powerstops... my brakes HAVE faded on me a couple times previous to the powerstops... I drive VERY hard at times... they have since NEVER EVER EVER even approached feeling like they were over-heating...
Beyond that... One of my calipers was dragging at one point... so it WAS creating WAY higher than normal temperatures on the rotor... but the car lost NO braking capability and the rotor did NOT warp... the centercaps melted out of my wheels... but the rotors did NOT warp. They have NO cracks (I'm planning on inspecting them again in a couple weeks) up to this point. And imo are well worth the money.
I didn't do any before/after tests which I wish I had as they do seem to make quite a difference. I'm still considering buying some blanks to test them against each other.... who knows. my .02.

blanks. believe it or not surface area and especially mass is your friend. it ABSORBS the heat. cross-drilled/slotted look good, but if you value that go for it. or if you value a good brakes get blanks.

Hey if your like me a person who drives fast and stops short (quick stops)
Then get the slotted. If you buy cheap you get cheap. Drilled rotors are good also provided you get with a good company, like the one 2 or 3 post up said they'll replace em. But I've run slotted on every car I've owned, my last was a 600hp+ Cobra, and now I've got 'em on my '97, it was actually my first upgrade. But before you decide on which is best check out articles dealing with this subject, then pick the one that best fits your driving not what best fits everyone else. CHeck out thsi link:http://auto.howstuffworks.com/disc-brake.htm

Re: (BrockGrimes)
I loved my Brembo Cross Drilled!
Brembo's have or had, can't remember, a no warpping gurenttee.
C/D rotors are lighter and stay cooler.
I put Brembo vented rotors and Axxis pads on my Civic before I sold it. But I liked my C/D & AEM set up better.

you want proof that C/D suck. Go to brembro's website. They used to say do not take these on the track, now they have changed it so that they just remomend the blanks for track, and the C/D for sport driving

Re: (mike93eh)
r you joking and I am not picking up on this? If not, that is the dumbest statement I have ever heard. Have you ever measured an old set of rotors, and noticed that one side is thicker then the other. Hmmm, i wonder what that means.
