Default creaking sound on left and right turn on civic

i have a 95 civic ex coupe, i keep hearing a creaking sound when i turn, i did some research and saw that it could possibly be the cv axels, how do i tell for sure what it is? and also if that is it, how hard is the installation?

To test for failing axels you will need to go to a parking lot and turn in both directions with the wheel locked out fully in each direction.
While driving in a circle in each direction you should hear a clunking sound not a creak.
If the axels need to be replaced you'll have to drain the tranny, and disconnect the lca's , disconnect the lower shock fork and remove the large wheel nut you'll see in the center of the brake rotor.
Overall its not terribly difficult but rather than try and do it off my brief, and i say brief directions, it should be done in accordance with the maintenance manual.

worn out bushings...and worn out suspension components. Get a rebuild kit off ebay and do everything --ball joints, bushings etc at once b/c if you replace any of these old parts of your suspension with new, it puts extra force on your other old parts. Rebuild kits go for like 80.

cv joints click when they are bad.

I never drain the transmission to pull the axles (auto trans). I also manage to not disconnect the fork either (CVs squeeze through). The new axles I've bought have smaller diameter CVs also and go through the fork no problem.

Loosen axle nut.
Remove wheel.
Detach ball joint from lower control arm.
Pull steering knuckle/hub off axle end.
Pry axle end from differential with large screwdriver(s).

Never see a drop of fluid.

i heard coilovers were bad because they make your car bouncy and to put good lowering springs.

There's nothing wrong with quality coilovers. Emphasis on quality. Get some cheap ****, and yeah, it'll bounce. Get some proper coils, and you'll be fine. One of the most recommended entry-level suspension setups is actually Koni yellow shocks with Ground Control coilovers.

Did an axle job a while ago. I saw A drop of fluid.
If your car is not level you may be more prone to droppage.

If you want coil overs, get Ground Control. Period. You have to pay to play in the car world. If it's a critical part for your car, and it's under $150, it's probably ****.

Then leave it stock.

Something you need to understand, Cheap and quality very rarely go togther.

if you want to lower it correctly, it's going to cost much more then $500.
If you want to half ***, and have a shitty, bouncy car go cheap. You WILL regret not listening.
